Fisherman's Village is the right pick if you're looking for something for the evenings: waterfront restaurants, a night market and a fire show, all within one walkable area and with a relaxed feel. It's also a good place to base yourself in the day, with plenty of hotels to choose from and some great cafes. The sand is coarse, so it isn't the place for a full beach day.

Think twice if
You want a calm, quiet base, or a beach for a full day.
If Fisherman's Village isn't quite right:
- Want a calmer base? Try Choeng Mon.
- Want a more remote island feel, with memorable sunset views over five islands? Try Lipa Noi and Taling Ngam.

Where to stay in Fisherman's Village: Zazen and Cielo, both on the beach
Zazen and Cielo are two romantic options on Bo Phut beach, both a walk from Fisherman's Village. Zazen is small and personal, with 26 individually furnished rooms at the quieter end of the beach, and its beachfront restaurant, The Club by Zazen, is one of the more romantic dinner spots on the island. Cielo is a small collection of suites and villas directly on the beach, most with their own private pool, and you can walk along the sand straight into the village.

Getting around Fisherman's Village: walkable, with Grab, songthaew or a hire car
Fisherman's Village is walkable, and well positioned for some of the island's main attractions. If you want to go further afield, Grab or a songthaew will do the job, but for the most freedom to explore, hire a car or scooter. Night market nights are busier, so go early for less traffic.
